The Political Scenery of Pakistan

The Political Scenery of Pakistan.

The political floor of Pakistan is shared by five pillars, which are unfortunately not equal in size and thus results in an unstable quagmire. A brief introduction of these pillars is discussed here.

“F”eudalism:

The biggest pillar of Pakistani Politics is the Feudalism, in Pakistan this obsolete system is still officially practiced on a large scale. 40% of Pakistan’s total wealth and assets are owned by this group. This block consists of 30-40 feudal families who hardly make 1% of Pakistan’s total population, they are ruling this system from the very beginning and are responsible for sending feudal and lords to the parliament. Their governments are highly accused for corruption and giving powers to the blue eyed people irrespective of merit, the ownership of these political parties is transferred to generations by generations in a family hierarchy, 90% of their vote bank resides in the rural areas of the country.

Notable Party: Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians.

“I”ndustrialists:

The Big 22 of Pakistan, the second most prominent pillar of Pakistani politics is hold by the industrialists of Pakistan, like the first pillar this also have restricted boundaries, they owns about 50% of Pakistan’s total wealth and owns industries like textile mills, sugar mills etc. . Same like the previous block they are also accused for corruption and giving powers to the blue eyed people irrespective of merit. They sends ‘Business-titian’ (A business man playing a role of a politician) to the parliament, these Business-titian hardly seems to be mobilizing over street with their supporters, most of their decisions are taken inside their rooms but still they do have a huge big vote in the parliament.

Notable Party: Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz Group).

“R”eligious:

The third pillar, the religious fundamentalists of Pakistan, often being seem mobilizing people for their political will in the meetings call over the name of religion, their politicians in public gathering seems to be dresses like a religious teacher, their majority of votes is based over foreigners who came from outside to study and the students of those madrasas, often known to operate under the curtain of ‘Madrasas’ (Religious Schools). Besides a strong following they do have big opposition who hates them giving the excuse that they used the name of religion for their own will and means. They have been found involved in armed actions and actions means to destabilize system. They hold a big majority in specific parts of the countries but never gain power in the federal.

Notable Party: Jamat-E-Islami.

“M”iddle Class:

They are the advocates of the rights of middle and lower class, they are liberal in approach and thus it contains people from all the classes and religions, people in this field are preferred acc. To their ideology irrespective of family or class they belong, parties belonging to this group often chant slogans in favor of the common man of the country and against the other 3 pillars discussed above, this group is often accused for been involved in conflicts with the other pillars and have faced serious opposition, they posses a rebellious attitude and have the theory to fight for the right of common man to give them power over the basis of merit, while fighting against the monopoly of Feudalist, Industrialist and Religious blocks. Unlike other blocks their parliamentarians are common man belonging to different areas of life. Any of these parties never came into power at the federal level but posses a strong hold in the urban parts of the country.

Notable Party: Muttahida Qaumi Movement. (M.Q.M.)
